I love the idea of creating a supportive community with like minded others. When you go to a Cigarette Pie event you’re coming out of it with new friends, networking with the other bands, artists, creators etc & just generally widening your place in the scene.
In many ways musicians working at grassroots levels are even more vulnerable to abuse than those who have industry support & money following them . . . LOUD WOMEN talks about ‘womxn-led or female-powered’ bands, & we’re about supporting musicians not objectifying them.
