For Fans Of: Deap Vally, Kate Nash, & Dream Wife
Two women. Two Xs. One big sound.
Following last yearβs release of their incredible debut EP Daughters Of Daughters, Brighton duo Hannah Pidduck & Clara Townsend – aka ARXX – are now set to blast into your ears once more with a ferocious new single, Iron Lung, out 7th June.
Racing with a propulsive energy & frenzied, thrashing beats, βIron Lungβ showcases the full force of ARXXβs unique, subversive sound. As the raw grit of Pidduckβs angst-driven vocals rages alongside swirling hooks, the track builds the tension with fast-paced, intense bursts of sublime power before developing into a riotous rock anthem, propelled by soaring emotion.
Impossible to pigeon hole into one single genre, ARXX pride themselves on creating unapologetically loud music, playing with the expectation of what they βshouldβ be as women and as artists. Now, having been making music together since 2017, theyβve been featured on BBC Introducing radio, played numerous festivals and have toured across the UK & Europe, including support slots with the likes of Dream Wife, Lady Bird, PINS & The Coathangers.
βIron Lungβ once again proves ARXXβs magnificent command of all they do, cementing them as a true force to be reckoned with; a power duo whose seething offerings we need in our lives now more than ever.

Lori on ARXX : I’ve always got time for a Brighton babe & with ARXX I get to listen to 2!
ARXX don’t display the usual stoner washout sound we’ve come to be used to hearing emerge from the tequila drenched shores. Think Cultdreams meets old skool Yeah Yeah Yeahs & you’re much closer to the sultry, angsty & unapologetic presence that ARXX bring to their music.
Iron Lung attributes perfectly the break-up panic we’re all more than used to feeling. Afraid to change, pleading to stay, but verging on the GFY attitude needed to finally break free of your own anxiety toward the breakdown of a relationship.
Listen to Iron Lung if you need that final push towards acceptance, a disdain for the past & a fuck yeah for the future. β¨πΉβ¨πΉβ¨πΉβ¨
